Treating Symptoms
- Have the person stay still – laying down or sitting still
- If the person has lightheadedness the person should rise slowly when standing
- Rehydrate if needed
- Avoid bright lights
- Avoid moving rapidly
Call a Doctor
- The person has never been dizzy before
- Such dizziness lasts longer than a few moments or is different than before
Call 911
- Chest pain
- Rapid, irregular, or very slow heartbeat
- Shortness of breath
- Double vision
- Convulsions or vomiting
- Fever and a stiff neck
- Unable to move arm or leg
- Slurred speech
- Numbness and/or tingling
- Change in vision or speech
