Follow the steps to reduce heart palpitations
- Avoid illegal drugs
- Avoid stimulant medications, such as: cold, cough and decongestants
- Decrease coffee intake, tea, chocolate, and drinks with caffeine such as cola.
- Stay away from alcohol and tobacco products
- Reduce stress and try to maintain calmness – anxiety, fear, panic and stress can cause palpitations

- Make appointment to check abnormal heart valves, heart rhythm issues and panic attacks
- If palpitations suddenly increase or change rhythm

- Confusion
- Dizziness
- Light-headedness
- Pain, pressure or tightness in chest, neck, jaw, arms or upper back
- Passing out
- Shortness of breath
